Gil Felix är en brasiliansk artist med en 25-årig internationell karriär, en bred och eklektisk repertoar med både originella kompositioner och stora hits. Med influenser från Gilberto Gil, Bob Marley, Luis Gonzaga and Salif Keita innebär Gil Felix framträdanden ett möte mellan den regionala Recôncavo-kulturen och afrikansk musikalitet.

I Brasilien var han en av reggaens pionjärer och gav 2004 ut plattan ”Galan” med en rad egna reggae-låtar som återlanserades 2019 på albumet ”Jump”. Han har turnerat och spelat på festivaler som Fest'in Bahía och Femadum och dragit fulla arenor i Sao Paolo. Han var från år 2000 och framåt bosatt i Schweiz och spelade på Montreuxfestivalen men också på festivalscenen i övriga Europa, inte minst på Europas största karneval, Berlin.

De senaste åren har Gil Felix spelat på klubbar, barer och festivaler framförallt i Skandinavien och visar återigen sin stora bredd från bossanova, över samba reggae till afrikanska beats. Gil Felix lanserade 2019 worldbeat-låten ”Kanga Musa” för såväl de små som de stora dansgolven, med en briljant text som lär oss om afrikansk och latinamerikansk inverkan på världshistorien fram till idag.

2021 släppte Gil Felix albumet Enfim som representerar ett nytt kliv musikaliskt med läckra jazzinfluenser i Gils samba reggae, afropop och bossanova. Albumet är en internationell produktion  med musiker från tre kontinenter och inspelad i Stockholm, Sverige och Salvador de Bahía, Brasilien med den välkände producenten Nestor Madrid som medproducent.

Gil Felix is ​​an international artist who has developed over a 25-year career a vast and eclectic repertoire with original compositions and great hits. Influenced by artists like Gilberto Gil, Bob Marley, Luis Gonzaga and Salif Keita, it has a trajectory that can be checked in the eight albums that are already recorded. Gil Felix's performance features compositions that blend the regional culture of the Recôncavo with influences of African musicality.

 

In Brazil he was one of the pioneers of reggae music, having multiple presentations in concert halls and festivals such as Fest'in Bahía and Femadum, highlighting the LP "Galan" of 2004, which had a special reception in São Paulo. He has been an influence of some artists of Bahia like Magary Lord and Cativeiro Reggae Band.

 

In 2000 he settled in Switzerland, opening his career to new possibilities. Participated in major international festivals such as Montreux Festival (Switzerland), Green Festival (Denmark), Latin American Festival (Italy) not to mention the biggest carnival en Europe, Berlin. Gil's music is mainly popular, however he managed to put two hits in Europe on the electronic music circuit, remaining for more than two years between 2003/2004 in the 1st of the ranking: "Capoeira" (Drum and Bass) and ”Qué alegría” (House music).

2018/19 he launched the worldbeat-track Kanga Musa for the electronic dance scene meanwhile combining dance music with lyrics teaching us about the African and Latin impact on world history up until now.

2021 Gil Felix released the album Enfim which represents a new step musically with delicious jazz influences in Gil's samba reggae, afropop and bossa nova. The album is an international production with musicians from three continents and recorded in Stockholm, Sweden and Salvador de Bahía, Brazil with the well-known producer Nestor Madrid as co-producer. 2022 saw the release of Na Frente Remix, produced by Paulo Murga.

Gil Felix é um artista internacional que tem desenvolvido ao longo de mais de 25 anos de carreira um repertório vasto e eclético, com composições originais e grandes sucessos. Influenciado por artistas como Gilberto Gil, Bob Marley, Luis Gonzaga e Salif Keita, tem uma trajetória que pode ser conferida nos oitos álbuns que já gravou. A performance de Gil Felix apresenta composições que mistura a cultura regional do recôncavo com influências da musicalidade africana.

 

No Brasil foi um dos pioneiros da música reggae, tendo múltiplas apresentações em casas de shows e festivais como o Fest’in Bahía e o Femadum, destacando o LP “Galan” de 2004, o qual teve uma especial acolhida em São Paulo. Ele tem sido uma influencia de alguns artistas da Bahia como Magary Lord e Cativeiro.

 

No ano 2000 se estabelece na Suíça, abrindo a carreira dele a novas possibilidades. Participou de grandes festivais internacionais tais como Festival do Montreux (Suíça), Green Festival (Dinamarca), Festival Latino Americano (Itália) sem mencionar o maior carnaval da Europa, Berlim. A música de Gil é principalmente popular, no entanto ele conseguiu colocar dois sucessos na Europa no circuito da música eletrônica, se mantendo por mais de dois anos entre 2003/2004 no 1° do ranking: “Capoeira” (Drum and Bass) e “Que Alegria” (House).

2018/19 ele toca em clubes, bares e festivais na Escandinávia e recentemente lançou Kanga Musa para a cena da dança eletrônica combinando dance music com letras ensinando-nos sobre o impacto africano e latino na história do mundo até agora.

Em 2021, Gil Felix lançou ó o álbum Enfim, que representa um novo passo musicalmente com deliciosas influências do jazz no samba reggae, afropop e bossa nova de Gil. O álbum é uma produção internacional com músicos de três continentes e gravado em Estocolmo, Suécia e Salvador da Bahia, Brasil com o conhecido produtor Nestor Madrid como co-produtor. 2022 viu o lançamento de Na Frente Remix, produzido por Paulo Murga.
